Volunteer Opportunities for Drivers in Alton/Bordon 

Brendoncare is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people.  They are seeking MIDAS trained drivers to drive a minibus.

Age Concern - need minibus drivers to provide transport to attend the lunch and recreation sessions in the area and also require volunteer escorts on the buses to enable disabled people get out and about and stay in touch with their local communities.

Voluntary/Community Care Groups in  Alton, Bramshott & Liphook, Four Marks, Medstead, Bordon & Whitehill and Headley -  Care Groups in these areas are looking for Drivers to transport local people to hospital and doctor's appointments. Times and frequency of volunteering are flexible.                      

Age Concern - Meals On Wheels   -   To collect and deliver hot meals to frail and elderly in Bordon and surrounding villages.

Contact the Elderly - One Sunday a month our drivers collect one/two elderly folk, take them to a local tea party, stay with them and enjoy the tea, then bring them home.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice - To drive patients to and from the Hospice and other driving duties as required.

Community Transport For East Hampshire - To drive mainly elderly people locally to Day Centres, lunch clubs etc. so that they can take an active part in their community. Times can be arranged to suit.

Volunteer Opportunities for Drivers in Petersfield/Horndean

Headway -   You could make a difference to those people affected by head injury. Our service users require transport to attend Drop In sessions in Petersfield on Tuesdays 1.30-3.30. We are currently seeking to recruit new drivers to enable these much needed activities to continue.   

Age Concern - Petersfield - Flexible opportunity to drive a minibus in the Petersfield area.  Midas training is not necessary to drive the minibus but instruction will be given to potential volunteers.

Catherington Club for the Retired - Volunteers needed to transport members to and from their monthly meetings.

Horndean Voluntary Care Group - Drivers required transporting clients to and from doctor's and hospital appointments

Rowans Hospice  - Do you want to become part of our much valued team? Our nursing team needs driver support collecting blood samples, records etc from local hospitals or could you help improve the lives of our patients and relatives by driving patients to and from our Day Centre and Health Clinic?

WRVS - Clanfield, Horndean and Petersfield- Drivers with own car, and knowledge of these areas to deliver meals to elderly / housebound residents on certain days each week. Drivers usually work with one crew member and deliver meals in all weathers.

Rowlands Castle Good Neighbours  - Voluntary driver/helper to meet requests for transport or other assistance from residents of Rowlands Castle Parish.  All requests are co-ordinated by a duty co-ordinator.

Canine Partners for Independence - Occasionally to drive a vehicle and collect / deliver dogs that have been specially trained to assist disabled people in everyday living.
